Go drive a school bus.’ Now she’s retired and I’m still working.” I had owned some bowling alleys - like Abbey Lanes in Abingdon. “My wife was a school teacher and I was semi-retired. “That’s a long, long story,” Gutzky said. Gutzky’s own journey to First Student started 14 years ago. “We’re just really hoping to meet some folks and see if we can find some drivers.” “We were here last week and we’re trying to get out,” said Gutzky, First Student’s manager in Galesburg.
